Activities and Dude Ranch Schedule

This is arrival day. Once you are settled into your comfortable cabin, you can learn your way around and meet the help and other ranch guests. We’ll have a delicious barbecue dinner on the lawn.

After breakfast, our cowboys fit your saddle and introduce you to your horse. Both are yours for the week. A comfortable hour ride follows an extensive horse orientation. After lunch, the afternoon horseback ride is tailored to the group. A cowboy singer entertains after dinner.

An early get-up is followed by a one-and-a-half hour horseback ride to a hardy cowboy breakfast, which is cooked over a campfire, and has never tasted better. After lunch, we take you to Cody for the “River Float”, a moderate white water rapid trip. The whole ranch goes to the “Cody Night Rodeo” after dinner.

Depending on the weekly makeup of our guests we plan a ranch softball game. We have been playing softball in the sagebrush for years and it is a great fun. After lunch, we ride. For dinner, we will have a steak cook-out on the lawn followed by a fishing tournament on the ranch pond.

By now, you are ready for either and an all day or half day ride. We take sack lunches and eat on the trail. After dinner, we show a short video of Yellowstone National Park, to give you historical and geological information on the Park.

This is Yellowstone Park day. It takes us all day to tour the “Lower Loop” of the park to show you Yellowstone Lake, Old Faithful, the Geyser Basins and more, including various Park wildlife. If you’ve already seen the park, you can spend the day in Cody and visit one of the world’s best western museums, the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. Horseback riding is also an option.

After breakfast, we offer morning rides. In the afternoon, you can have photos taken of your family horseback. After a Prime Rib Dinner, we give our guests the opportunity to entertain us with a fun “Variety Show.”

Final farewells are Sunday morning before or after breakfast, depending on your departure time.
